1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 exd4 4. Nxd4 Bc5 5. Be3 Qf6 6. c3 Nge7 7. Nc2

White plays the king's pawn to e4. Black plays the king's pawn to e5. White develops the knight to f3.

Black develops the knight to c6. White plays the queen's pawn to d4. Black captures on d4 with the king's pawn.

White captures with the knight on d4. Black develops the dark-squared bishop to c5. White develops the dark-squared bishop to e3.

Black places the queen to f6. White advances the c-pawn to c3. Black moves the knight to e7.

White moves the knight to c2.
